Las Vegas Gets $200K to Prevent Foreclosures

LAS VEGAS -- The city of Las Vegas is getting $200,000 in funding to help homeowners facing  foreclosure.

The Las Vegas City Council approved the agreement with the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. The money will be used to educate homeowners about their options and alternatives when it comes to preventing foreclosure.

Since 2007, more than 51,000 homes in Nevada have fallen into foreclosure.
