Of all the things in this life you take for granted, family is probably one of them. Ask any Wednesday's Child, though, and they'd tell you family is the thing they would cherish the most.
We're back at The Little Pastry Chef with some of the other Wednesday's Child candidates you've met in weeks past. Chelsea is the 14-yr-old there in the purple...working on her cake creation.
Stuff like this comes easy to her, 'cause...
"I like to learn. "
Chelsea quickly admits she loves school...even social studies.
"Miss Chelsea is actually doing very well. What did she tell me? she's turning her C's into B's, and her B's into A's...um so she's doing very well, she appreciates going to school," says Vickie, her case worker.
Chelsea likes to apply her success in school to lessons in life.
"Like, I work through my problems, I don't let 'em pull me down," says Chelsea.
And she's had plenty trying to pull her down in life so far, but keeps coming back.
Chelsea has had a lot of disappointments in life, but she's amazing, she has bounced back from it all. She can do anything...if she puts her mind to it with the right family, with the right support system, she honestly could do anything she wanted to do, she's amazing," adds Vickie.
Chelsea loves computers, gets along well with younger kids, and is a great swimmer.
All she's lacking is a family to be there for her.
"You know, so someone that has the time to dedicate to her, and help her get to wherever she's planning on getting. I mean she's only 14 years old...so even though, she's not young young...she's old enough to have some clue, and we just need somebody to help her get from A to B," adds Vickie.
Chelsea does have some extended family she wants to stay in touch with. If that's ok with you...and you'd like to get started making her part of your family, call the local office of the Adoption Exchange now at 436-6335.
