LAS VEGAS -- Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle campaigned in Las Vegas Thursday. She attended an event where she signed a pledge to try and repeal the death tax if elected. That's a tax on inheritances passed down through the generations.
The federal estate tax will renew after December 31, 2010.
Angle says her opponent, incumbent Senator Harry Reid, wants to reinstate the tax. Currently, the tax will be reinstated in 2011 at a rate of 55-percent or higher for inheritance over $1 million.
"We need to make sure that this death tax goes away permanently," she said.
Angle would only take three questions from the assembled media and would only address the repeal of the death tax.
Some medical providers say they often deal with Hispanic patients who are afraid to seek medical care. It's hoped the opening of a new medical clinic will change that.
