HENDERSON -- U.S. Senate candidate Sharron Angle says Majority Leader Harry Reid is a "desperate man" who is distorting her record while ignoring the state's economic troubles.
The Republican Angle Friday accused Reid and President Barack Obama of pushing billions of dollars in stimulus spending while Nevada struggles with "an economy that is a disaster."
Angle told Republicans at a state convention that she holds Reid personally responsible for Nevada's nation-leading unemployment rate.
Her remarks came a day after the Democratic president depicted Angle as a fringe candidate who would privatize Social Security and Medicare and eliminate federal education and environmental agencies.
Angle also urged the GOP to unite behind her candidacy after a bruising primary.
