LAS VEGAS -- A Fourth of July holiday celebration turned tragic in one northeast neighborhood when a 22-year-old man was killed.

The man, Casey Barlow, died and a boy was injured while lighting fireworks. Police are investigating to see if chemicals had been added to the fireworks to create a bigger blast.

Kathi Hertzel, Barlow's aunt, said the family is devastated. She described Barlow as a great all-around kid who was full of life and went to work with his dad every day.

Police say around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Barlow and 13-year-old Jacob Kittinger were lighting fireworks in the street in front of family and friends. Police and neighbors says the fireworks had been tampered with prior to lighting them.  Police still don't know how the fireworks backfired or who was holding what.

Barlow died at the hospital from his injuries. An autopsy on Barlow will be done  to determine the exact cause of death. Kittinger was taken to Sunrise Hospital in stable condition with injuries to his one of his biceps and leg. Kittinger has undergone two surgeries.
