LAS VEGAS -- Minimum wage workers in Nevada will get a raise Thursday, July 1st.
The minimum wage for employees who receive qualified health benefits from their employers will increase from $6.55 per hour to $7.25 per hour and the minimum wage for employees who do not receive health benefits will increase from $7.55 per hour to $8.25 per hour.
More employees may also see a bump in their paychecks because of overtime. Employers who were not paying daily overtime will now be required to do that.
Some medical providers say they often deal with Hispanic patients who are afraid to seek medical care. It's hoped the opening of a new medical clinic will change that.
