Lawnmower Exchange Program Up and Running

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS -- A popular program is back that will help you go green in an affordable way and keep your yard looking nice. Clark County's Lawn Mower Exchange program is already underway.

Residents can trade in their gas powered mowers and receiver a voucher that will allow them to get an environmentally friendly electric lawn mower for $99. Randy White with Clark County Air Quality says the program is very important, "It's also important for the public to be aware of environmental and air quality issues."

The program is just three steps: go to the Clark County Government Center or Henderson City Hall and pick up an application. Once an official puts a sticker on your application, you'll have 14 days to take it and your gas powered lawn mower to the recycler who will place a second sticker on your application. From there you call Newton who will collect the $99 and ship you a new more energy efficient mower.

There are requirements in order to take part in the program, to see what they are and more information on how to get the voucher click here.
