LAS VEGAS -- The wife of Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman is due to testify in a trial over whether a drug maker and distributor are responsible for a hepatitis C outbreak linked to Las Vegas endoscopy clinics in 2008.
Carolyn Goodman is due to take the stand Monday in Clark County District Court as president of The Meadows School. That's where civil lawsuit plaintiff Henry Chanin is headmaster. Chanin wants a jury to find pharmaceutical companies that manufactured and distributed large vials of the anesthetic propofol sacrificed patient safety for profits.
His lawyer Robert Eglet says the companies encouraged improper use of the drug by providing vials five times larger than needed for routine procedures, that warning labels on vials were inadequate.
