LAS VEGAS -- There are a lot of free events being held around the Las Vegas Valley in honor of Earth Day.
Living Green in Las Vegas Expo at the South Point Hotel and Casino Convention Center. There will be hundreds of vendors at the free event showing their ecologically friendly products. The event takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Saturday six local Wal-Marts will hold Earth Day fairs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. teaching people how to go green while shopping. The fairs will be held at the Wal-Mart's on 215 and Decatur, 6464 North Decatur, 215 and Rainbow, 7200 Arroyo Parkway, Decatur and Charleston and 4505 West Charleston.
Green Fest will take place on Saturday at the District from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This all-new event will feature large recycling bins for area residents to drop off recyclables. Shred-It will also be on hand to shred documents from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Girl Scout troops will be collecting plastic grocery bags for recycling.
There is also free entrance to all national parks through Sunday.
