Three- and- a- half years old, and basically on his own. How hard would that be!! Joseph is today's Wednesday's Child, and while he does have foster care, he needs a forever home, ASAP.
You might think Joseph wouldn't have much to smile about. He was separated from his parents...then some other relatives... Now he lives in foster care.
"Yeah, he's in a new foster home, it's been a...a big adjustment for him, 'cause he went from being with relatives, well not only away from his parents, but away from relatives, and now to um, this current foster placement," says his case worker, Andre Wade.
But the little boy I found at the Artful Potter on this day was engaging, bright, curious and polite.
"Like I said, he's a charmer...a lot of personality, he.... It's kinda interesting that he can kinda let you know what he likes and what he doesn't like...you don't have to play the guessing game," says Wade.
The report card on Joseph is all good. He's not a picky eater. Does well with pets. Likes to play by himself or with others, outside or inside... Loves movies, and does a lot of things for himself.
"But he can't and doesn't want to do it all for himself. Joseph is very social, and needs a family to love him," adds Wade.
"I think a home that's gonna understand that he's gonna need that slow transition to become familiar with them, and a family that's gonna be able to give him the attention that he, he deserves and needs. So I think those considerations for a family," says Wade.
Joseph is free and clear for adoption.
