A federal bankruptcy judge is ordering the physician and owner of medical clinics at the center of a Las Vegas hepatitis outbreak to answer questions under oath in his bankruptcy case.
If Dr. Dipak Desai abides by the court order before a scheduled Aug. 24 creditors' meeting, it will mark the first time that Desai answered any questions about the clinics named in patient lawsuits. But Desai's bankruptcy lawyer says Desai may not be able to answer questions due to a stroke he suffered last year.
