(May 29) -- A man police say sexually assaulted at least four women is now behind bars. Police say Brian Ziegler has admitted to at least one of the attacks and said another one was a blur.
Officers think there may be other women he has assaulted. They say he is the man who was approaching women at gunpoint in a pickup truck.
Police say Ziegler followed the same method of attack each time. He would drive up to his victims in his truck, point a gun at them and tell them to get in, police explained.
Ziegler may have terrorized women on the valley's streets for months, but now he's behind bars.
Prosecutors say he is connected to at least four cases. They want the public's help to find out whether he's attacked even more people.
Authorities say 35-year-old Brian Ziegler sexually assaulted three women and one teen each time threatening them with a gun or knife. More victims may be out there.
Metro's Bill Cassell said, "He has been arrested for several sexual assaults. We have several other cases working."
One victim says Ziegler kidnapped her in this neighborhood near Washington and Torrey Pines. That he pulled up to her, pointed a gun at her and said get in or I'll kill you.
She says Ziegler brought her out to Red Rock, made her take off her clothes and his, and forced her to perform sex acts while he held a gun in his hands.
Police reports show one week earlier a 15-year-old girl was attacked the same way by a suspect whose description was similar to Ziegler's, notably a long goatee and spacer earrings.
A few weeks later, a woman walking near Rainbow and West Charleston says Ziegler kidnapped her. The method was the same -- kidnap the victim at gunpoint, drive to a secluded area, force them to strip and assault them.
Police say they need any and all information about Brian Ziegler.
Bill Cassell continued, "Anybody who believes they may have come into contact with him, who has information about his criminal activities or believes who may have been a victim, or a potential victim, we really want them to contact the police department."
Lu Torres, with the Rape Crisis Center, said, "Most offenders repeat seven to twenty times."
Advocates for sex crimes victims say it is scary for victims and witnesses to speak up. But they need to, like the women in these cases already have.
"The only way to get these offenders behind bars, and behind bars permanently, is for people to come forward and speak up and really help the victims out," Torres explained.
Detectives say Ziegler admitted to kidnapping one woman saying he had wanted to kill her but didn't because she pleaded to see her son again.
Brian Ziegler now faces fifteen felony charges. Prosecutors say more are likely coming.
Ziegler will be in court Wednesday morning for a hearing regarding two of those charges.
