The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that happened at U.S. 95 and West Lake Mead Boulevard. The accident occurred Monday just before 9 p.m.
Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Trooper Kevin Honea said a silver Dodge Durango struck the right rear of a Chevy compact car, pushing the Chevy into West Lake Mead Boulevard. The compact car was then clipped by a sedan.
A woman, the only occupant inside of the Chevy, was transported to UMC where she later died as a result of her injuries. Officials report the victim is from California, and she is in her mid-sixties.
Highway Patrol investigators do not believe alcohol or speed were a factor, but the accident remains under investigation.
