Posted: Updated:

Although some television stations around the country has opted to move forward with the transition from an analog to a digital signal, however KLAS-TV will not make the change until June 12, 2009 when the majority of stations will make the switch.

A study showed that nearly 35,000 Southern Nevadans are still not ready for the DTV switch.

Congress  postponed the mandatory transition for four months. There were concerns that households around the country were not prepared. In addition, the government fund that subsidizes digital converter boxes is out of money and thousands are still waiting for coupons.

Some television stations have opted to go ahead with the switch in order to avoid additional costs for the station on maintaining an analog signal.
