Their 26-foot truck was packed full of everything from furniture to priceless mementos. But this family doesn't think their theft was random, rather an inside job.
The Krzyton family was in the process of moving when they stopped to stay overnight at a luxury hotel on the Strip. They packed up all their belongings from their home near Chicago. They were moving to Los Angeles to be closer to their family.
Debbie Krzyton said, "My son, he's been pushing us to do that for a while."
Their trip took them through Las Vegas. They decided to stop for a while and stay at the Venetian.
Debbie Krzyton said, "Again, we came here thinking it's the last leg of our trip -- excited to be here, thinking we're going to have fun, drive on and go on with our life."
They parked their truck at the hotel's oversized vehicle lot. When they went back to get it, the moving van was gone. "We find our moving van and all of our possessions stolen. Everything missing," Justin Krzyton said.
"You can't replace my pictures. Been married almost thirty years. I have memories of my kids, movies. My mom and dad passed away, I don't have those pictures," Debbie added.
With everything gone except the clothes on their backs, the Krzyton family says the Venetian skirted responsibility.
The Venetian says it has a record of the family staying with them. They say the parking lot in question is guarded 24 hours a day by a contracted security firm and that nothing like this has happened before. They say they are cooperating with police and did not want to comment on the details of the investigation until it is done.
But the Krzyton family believes a security guard at the parking lot might be a culprit.
Justin Krzyton continued, "He was very interested in our truck. When we came out he was overly-friendly and police are exploring all their options in their investigation."
The family is hoping police can solve this mystery and find out why a trip that started with so much promise ended so sadly.

There have been similar moving truck thefts throughout the valley over the past few months, including two new teachers whose trucks were stolen in Henderson.
Police say they are aware of the trend and are trying to keep an eye on it.
