Police say they were acting on a tip when they served a search warrant at 1624 Palm Street. They found the remains in the back yard.
Investigators say the remains were that of a non-viable fetus, which means the baby was never carried to term and could be the result of a miscarriage.
Residents at the Palm Grove mobile home park say they noticed dozens of Metro police officers and crime scene investigators surrounding the mobile home at around 6 a.m. Friday morning.
Police say they were acting on a tip from a citizen alerting them something could be wrong in the backyard of that mobile home.
Police then got a search warrant, started digging up the backyard and found the remains of a non-viable fetus.
Eyewitness News was told the mother of that fetus was not on property when police arrived or when they found the remains, but investigators say the mother probably will not be facing any charges in connection with this incident.
