Ten Canadian pharmacies have applied for licenses from the Nevada Board of Pharmacy to sell prescription drugs, which state officials herald as a more affordable market for cash-strapped Nevadans.
The board will review the applications at its September seventh and eighth meetings in Reno. Board representatives will travel to Canada and inspect approved pharmacies the week of September 19th.
The state-approved Canadian pharmacies should be listed on the Governor's Office for Consumer Health Assistance Web site by late September.
Nevada's law making it easier for consumers to buy prescription drugs from Canadian pharmacies took effect July first.
