Husband of a Boulder City Murder Victim Speaks Out

(June 26) -- A grieving husband cannot fathom why his loving wife became the innocent victim of a horrific crime. 46-year-old Ladonna Milam's body was found in parts in a Boulder City pond on Monday. Today, her husband sat down with Channel 8 Eyewitness News reporter Cindy Cesare and told her about a loving mother and wife whose life was cut short.

Jerry Milam paints a picture of a woman who lit up a room and lit up his life. Milam met his future wife, Ladonna, nine years ago after he asked God for some happiness. He found it when he met her: “Always a glow around her. Which helped me. I would get up in the morning and I'd try to choke down a cup of coffee and here she was dancing and singing.”

46-year-old Ladonna Milam had a zest for life and a passion to meet new people. That's why she enjoyed her job as a porter at the Hacienda Hotel. But it was a hotel guest, believed to be 29-year-old Perry Monroe, who called Milam for towels on Sunday night. Blood was found in the room. Milam's body parts were discovered in a Boulder City pond the next day.

Milam said, “She was going to take these towels up and she was going to meet somebody. And doing something for somebody. That's the hard part because this guy knew when he called down for them, what he was going to do.”

Monroe was found sleeping in his car in Fresno, California on Monday night. Police found more body parts in his car. Milam believes that justice will now be served.

Milam said, “I have no doubt in my mind, I live in America, I fought for this country. I live under the constitution of the United States and I know that things will work.”

But for now, Milam will try to get up each day without his best friend and the love of his life.

Ladonna Milam has two grown sons from a previous marriage, who live in Oklahoma. Jerry Milam plans to face his wife's accused killer in court when Monroe is extradited back to Las Vegas.
