LAS VEGAS - For once, boxing fans will see an impressive fight card. Saturday night's card at Mandalay Bay includes two title fights and some familiar faces. Joel Casamayor is on the card. So is Rocky Juarez.
But, fans are most anxious to see the main event between Juan Manuel Marquez and Juan Diaz. "Last year, they gave us the fight of the year," said boxing fan Brandon Ortega. "I think this year, they're going to do it again."
Marquez stole the show in the 2009 fight of the year. Both are back to do it again. "When you have a puncher, and you have a counter puncher, you're always going to have a good fight," said boxing fan Hugo Garnica. "The puncher will keep punching, and the counter puncher is going to look for openings. Marquez is a counter puncher, and I don't think Diaz can have a different style this time."
"Marquez is going to win, because he's a better fighter. I think he has more experience," said boxing fan Mayra Ortega.
Marquez is the unified lightweight champ. He weighed in at 133.5lbs. Diaz tipped the scale at 135lbs.
Juan Diaz is nicknamed "The Baby Bull". But, some young fans will take "The Matador" over "The Bull" any day. "I like them both, but I think when that bell rings, I think I'm going to be going for Marquez," Brandon Ortega said.
